Project Description:
This project covers the process taken to design a twin-engine aircraft intended to provide rapid humanitarian aid in response to natural disasters. The aircraft will transport up to 1,500 lbs of mixed cargo (medical kits, water and food) over a distance of 800 statute miles to bases located near the affected regions.
This aircraft must be capable of short takeoff and landing, that is 2,250 ft, on runways at 5,000 ft MSL on a 90ºF day. Our design must use FAA-certified engines and comply an operational ceiling of 30,000 ft and cruise altitudes between 10,000 and 15,000 ft.
Finally, our aircraft must also carry 3 crew-members with their baggage and aditional tools that will facilitate lifting the cargo.
