Project Description:

Road Guardian is a low-cost retrofit advanced driver assistance system designed to bring modern safety features to older vehicles. The system uses a Raspberry Pi, camera-based computer vision, OBD-II vehicle speed data, and fuzzy logic to detect lanes, identify nearby vehicles, estimate following distance, and calculate time-to-collision. Alerts are provided to warn the driver of possible lane departure or forward collision risks. By combining affordable hardware with real-time software, Road Guardian aims to make driver assistance technology more accessible without requiring a new car.
