Project Description:

Our new and improved abdominal compression wrap features dial-fit, quick-release, and gear-locking mechanisms to ensure guaranteed comfort for our users. We had the pleasure of designing a new product for elders, athletes, and postpartum women. The six of us have worked together since the start of the semester to create a product that helps improve recovery, posture, support, and abdominal strength. We ran many quantitative tests and studies, such as a house of quality, weighted decision matrix, DFMEA, and LCA for sustainability, to determine the best way to design our compression wrap. As well as finding which stakeholder requirements are more important to take into account for our most compatible prototype. After numerous interviews, research sessions, and physical testing, our final product is based on the idea that your body changes in shape every time you move. Your compression wrap should easily do the same. This capstone experience has given us a lot of hands-on experience with the product design process. It has taught us how much time and effort have to go into the project in order to have a viable, fully functional prototype.
