Project Description:
Our capstone project focuses on improving mobility accessibility by developing a stair-adaptive walker attachment for individuals with limited mobility. Traditional walkers are designed primarily for flat surfaces, creating safety and accessibility challenges when navigating stairs. Our team designed a lightweight, mechanically adjustable system that allows a standard walker to maintain stability and functionality on staircases while remaining practical for everyday use. Our design incorporates a brake lever actuation mechanism that enables controlled adjustment and positioning of the legs during stair ascent and descent.
