Automated Oyster Shucking Machine

D4: Oyster Shucking Machine project image

Project Description:

Oyster shucking requires skilled, time intensive labor causing workforce shortages and production restrictions. Due to the stress put on the worker's bodies a higher pay is sought that the industry cannot afford. This project's goal is to design an automated system with the capability to shuck and detach oyster meat from the shell without compromising quality and costs for the consumer. This automation of the process is meant to increase production time of skilled workers without causing stress to their bodies or a large increase to consumer prices.
