Project Description:

With age, it is common to experience mobility limitations, poor balance, and loss of strength and dexterity, all of which contribute to a problem that many senior citizens face – it is challenging to pick objects off the ground. We have created an automated grabber tool to assist them with this task. A simple plug-in is used to power the device and with a press of a button, the jaws at the distal end will close and grab the object for you. With a press of a switch, the device will retract and bring the object right to the user’s hand.
