Project Description:

Although few in number, power outages pose a danger to the university system if energy is poorly managed. To create a power distribution response matrix, important factors life and non-life-threatening must be taken into account. Through careful analysis of their size and structural configuration, materials, conditions, cooling needs, ventilation systems, backup power options, and user demographics, we created an efficient severity scoring system and a response matrix based on this system. In creating the severity index we considered not only physical data into account, but the input of professors, students, and staff from around the University through our comfortability factor. Our matrix assists in prioritizing buildings whose operational loss would significantly impact the campus, enabling the school to effectively plan power distribution for best use.
