Project Description:
Our project aims to reduce the amount of trash in smaller waterways, such as the Paint Branch stream, in an effort to protect the local environment and prevent trash accumulation in larger bodies of water downstream. The project consists of two main systems: The conveyor belt and the container. Once placed in the water, the conveyor belt is activated and begins collecting any floating trash such as plastic bottles. The trash is the lifted into the container which can be removed and emptied for continued use.
