Pipe Cleaning Device

Project Description:

One major problem existing in aquaculture farms today presents itself to be cleaning pipes of biofouling and other debris that can contaminate product, reduce output, and require long pipe downtimes in order to aptly clean the inner surface area. To be able to combat this problem, our team has been tasked to develop a solution that assists in this, focusing on accommodating a various amount of diameters and cleaning the pipe adequately based on biofouling generated over time. Our design incorporates torsional springs, "wing-like" components, and bristles in order to clean the pipe - all while utilizing segmented bodies, where multiple of these bodies connect in order to clean the pipe completely. Our goal was to produce a design that would be simple, avoid electronics, and be able to be component-based that could be taken apart and have replaceable individual parts.
