Project Description:
This project focuses on the design and development of a one-handed carry device for elderly walker users to improve independence in daily activities such as transporting groceries, food, and personal items. Many elderly individuals rely on walkers for mobility, which occupy both hands and significantly limit their ability to safely carry items. Existing commercial solutions, including trays, bags, baskets, and hooks, often fail to meet user needs due to issues such as poor stability, swinging loads, blocking of walking motion, and interference with the walker’s folding mechanism.
