One-Armed Paddle

ENME - E5 - PaddleOn(e) project image
A CAD model of our one-armed paddle device

Project Description:

Our device is a wearable, thigh-mounted paddle attachment that enables individuals with one arm, or limited arm function, to participate in dragon boat at both the recreational and competitive level.  Our device acts as a second arm, providing stability and leverage to the user during each stroke. The device straps onto the user's thigh using a comfortable brace and attaches securely to a standard paddle. With multiple degrees of freedom, the device achieves the full range of motion required for an effective stroke. Sponsored by Adaptive Adventures, our device breaks down barriers to entry into paddle sports, promoting inclusivity, competition, and community for para-athletes.
