Laundry Lifters - ME Team 38

Laundry Assistant for the Elderly

Laundry Lifters - ME Team 38 project image

Project Description:

Our project's goal is to easily carry a laundry basket up and down the stairs without the user having to physically carry it themselves. We want to make it as easy as possible to carry the laundry, and in doing so we have created a design that seamlessly is able to navigate up and down the stairs while holding the weight of a laundry basket, all with the press of a button. Our easy 3 button system allows the user to sent the laundry down the stairs, bring the laundry back up the stairs, or immediately stop the device if needed. This design not only saves space, time, and effort, but it cleanly folds against the wall and holds in place when not in use, to optimize the current use of the stairs.
